Excavator Rollover with Entrapment
Wellfleet: At approximately 11:59 AM on November 22, 2025, the Wellfleet Fire Department was dispatched to a report of an excavator rollover with possible entrapment. Upon arrival, firefighters found an excavator that had rolled onto its side and into a telephone pole with electrical lines involved, trapping the operator inside the cab.
Due to the potential electrical hazard, Eversource was requested to shut down power. Once the scene was confirmed de-energized, firefighters were able to access the cab and safely extricate the operator. No injuries were reported.
Eversource’s outage map shows an extended power outage in the area as crews work to repair damaged utility infrastructure.

The Wellfleet Fire Department reminds residents to use caution around downed or damaged utility lines and to assume all wires are energized unless confirmed otherwise.
