 About Us


 

The Wellfleet Fire & Rescue Department is a municipal service of the town of Wellfleet Massachusetts, on Cape Cod,  providing advanced life support emergency medical service, fire protection, prevention, and other emergency services.

 

Mission Statement

The Mission of the Wellfleet Fire Department is to serve without prejudice or favoritism, all of the community’s citizens and visitors by safeguarding collectively and individually, their lives and property. This shall be accomplished through fire prevention, public education, fire suppression, advanced life support emergency medical service, and the maximum use of available resources in the mitigation of all disasters, both man-made and natural.


Code of Ethics

My fundamental responsibility as a “Protector of Society” is the safeguarding and preservation of human life and property against the elements of fire and disaster. I will never allow personal feelings, nor danger to self, to deter my responsibilities. I will, without provocation, recognize and uphold the responsibilities of my duties, dedicating myself, before God and to the public, who have placed their faith in me and my chosen profession.

 


 

The Wellfleet Fire Department and its members are associated with numerous professional organizations, including:

 
The Wellfleet Firefighter’s Relief Association

The Wellfleet Firefighter’s Relief Association is made up of all current and ex-members of the Wellfleet Fire Department. Its purpose is:

1.    To promote the interests of the Wellfleet Fire Department.

2.    To aid the Wellfleet Fire Department and its firefighters in providing Firefighting, Rescue, and Emergency Medical Services to the town of Wellfleet.

3.    To provide education in Firefighting, Rescue, and Emergency Medical Services, and to acquire firefighting, rescue, and emergency medical equipment for donation to the Wellfleet Fire Department.

4.    To encourage close and friendly relations between the Wellfleet Fire Department and the residents of the Town of Wellfleet.

The Wellfleet Firefighter’s Relief Association provides the funding that allows us to make this web site available.

 
The Wellfleet Employees Association

The Wellfleet Employees Association represents the Wellfleet town employees who are not covered by individual employment contracts or other labor agreements. Our call firefighters and our administrative assistant are represented by two of the three units that make up the WEA.

 
The Wellfleet Permanent Fire Fighters Association

The Wellfleet Permanent Fire Fighters Association represents the department’s career firefighters. It is organized within the International Association of Fire Fighters as Local 4342, and is affiliated with the Professional Fire Fighters of Massachusetts.
